ECO-FRIENDLY ART, ENVIRONMENTAL GLOBAL INTERNET ARTIST NETWORK, MY DREAM

GO GREEN, MORE!

Eco-friendly artists believe in the power of beautiful artwork to transform one’s living space, while still maintaining a sense of care for the environment. In this spirit, organic artists make it a priority to minimize artful waste on the planet, often working with recyclable materials and canvases, while actively seeking out alternatives to traditional art supplies and even shipping materials. As society adds to their fine art collection, individuals and corporations can feel good about supporting artists that enhance our atmosphere without harming it or anyone else in the process.

MY JOURNEY

Many years ago, I recognized the power of eco-friendly art when my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I became more aware of the chemicals that we use on a daily basis as painters. This new consciousness led me to make a serious decision regarding the elimination of as many toxic substances in my artwork as possible. I still spend extensive hours researching and experimenting with international eco-friendly materials from over 15 different countries. I believe this challenge has been time well spent. It is part of my life mission to create art that is healing, healthy, and hopeful.  I set out on a journey that has taken me 13 years of research to somewhat complete. Although, there is always more, I now feel it is time to encourage and share what I have learned with other artists, in hopes that they too will feel led to ‘go green’ in their art studios and better our planetary existence on a global scale.

Aggregates Recycled from Marble Quarry in Italy

MY DREAM …ECO-FRIENDLY MISSION … EDUCATE ARTISTS

My new expansive dream involves creating a global internet network where fine artists can come, chat, Skype, blog and share what they have learned regarding creating eco-friendly studio space. We can utilize videos and chat rooms to accomplish many of these goals, sharing our knowledge with one another internationally.  Over time … one person at a time … one painting at a time, we can make our world a healthier place for ourselves, our children, and future generations to come.  Go Green, More!

ColorScape Landscape Series: Eco-Friendly Fine Art

ColorScape Landscapes is one of my sustainable art series utilizing archival Italian art mediums and water-based oils with no added chemicals. The Italian materials are LEED certified and the pigment textures are created with over 50% of post-industrial recycled content from the quarries in Italy. The Romans created architectural masterpieces with these same artistic products found in Carrera, Italy, today, where the limestone and marble still formulates! How amazing that we as artists can still use these same raw materials and create awe-inspiring historical environmental art.
